China’s putting up a really strong show at this year’s summer Olympics, backed by the home crowd. I wonder if the same can be said of the Veva S60 luxury cell phone from Qiao Xing Universal Telephone, Inc. This handset targets “female professionals with its unique and luxury design and features.”

Through cooperation with Swarovski, each VEVA S60 is decorated with 129 Swarovski crystal mosaic and 18K gold coating. As thin as 9.4 millimeters, VEVA S60 also has long standby time.

In addition to the above, you get the mandatory Bluetooth support for hands-free conversations as well as handwriting recognition software – a must if you’re ever going to enter the China market. The Veva S60, despite it’s tag as a “luxury phone”, certainly doesn’t live up to the billing where price is concerned as it retails for a mere $290.

Mint Wireless, based in Australia, have created a very nice projector named Mint V10. This tiny pocket sized projector is designed to work with your mobile phone, PDA or UMPC and allows you to have access to a larger pocket sized screen.

The Mint V10 measures 125 x 55 x 23 mm and projects the picture by using an LED lamp which has a life of 20000 hours. The screen it is capable of projecting is 50 inches in size with a throw distance of just 1.8m. I find that to be fantastic!

The product will retail at $649 (AUD I believe) which is just short of $600 USD.

Its a good thing that the Green concept it starting to appear in every domain out there, and the mobile phones industry sure need-ed a representative and here it is. Nokia’s eco-friendly “Remade” concept features an “outer shell made from recycled aluminum cans, a chassis made of plastic from drink bottles and rubber parts made from old car tires. I think its a great initiative from Nokia, and i hope other will follow.
