A Slide Rule was a gadget used back in the 50’s and was basically an old fashioned calculator which you slide the rulers around to work out complex equations. The Slide Rule clock is basically a modern version of the slide rule that is now used to tell the time.

Greg Blonder was the creator of this device (he holds over 70 patents). The device is powered by LEGO Mindstorms programmable bricks and is constructed of foamcore.

The base of the clock was constructed from standard LEGOs, encasing two mindstorm servo motors. At the corners of the base are four switches, used to support the “slider”. By pressing the corners of the slider its possible to set the hours and minutes.

Each scale measures 2″ X 18″. The clock is DC powered and time can be set by tapping the sides of the rulers to move up and down the hours and minutes.

If you take a sweeping look around a simple room, there are many fixtures which could be used to hide spy cameras without the knowledge of the inhabitant. One classic example is the clock, and this alarm clock equipped with a spy camera is a perfect example.

We’ve all seen some cool looking watchphone’s over the years, but they were all just concepts. The WM2 on the other hand is real, and will be available for a retail price of $475. The phone itself has average specs (quad band GSM, stereo Bluetooth, 260k color touchscreen display, 1gb storage, and 240 hours / 300 mins of standby / talk time), but what looks so cool is the numberpad integrated in the wristband. Sure you can find some reasons not to ware this watch like its big and bulky, but i think it really diserves a chance as a new gadget.

This is something i’d like to have for myself. The fact that it has clock and termometer at the same time makes it a perfect 2 in 1 gadget, very usefull on your bedside table or on your desk. It also looks very nice and it fits in any decor.

Although i don’t have any preconceived ideas about watches, the All-Mechanical “digital” watch is quite a nice gadget. For me personally it doesn’t really matter if its a digital or analog watch, as long as it looks cool. But some people might want the Analog watch mechanical parts, but also they might like the nice display of a digital clock. So Di Grisogono the company that manufactures the watch, putted together this magnificent watch.

You have to agree with me that from the pictures the design seems flawless. Just 177 of these amazing timepieces are going to be made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Geneva-based horloger. Billed as the most complicated digital-analog timepiece in the world, the digital display is actually mechanical, with rolling tubes forming the digital segments.
