The latest neat convergence box is this external battery pack for the iPhones 1 and 2. Like other external batteries, the iPower Portable Power Station juices the battery of the iPhone from its own reserves. When the iPower’s battery charge falls below five percent, it stops feeding the iPhone. Why? Because of the other feature, an external speaker. Apparently, that last five percent is enough to keep the iPower’s speaker running for seven more hours.

It gets better. Although the iPower is only designed for use with the two iPhones, it could be pressed into service (we think) for the iPod Touch, which actually needs an external speaker. The sound all goes through the dock connector, so as long as you can squeeze the Touch into the case (which is expandable) you should be good to go. $44.

The featherweight Freeloader portable charger weighs in at just 54g – and that’s including batteries – and fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. Two complimentary rechargeable AA batteries come with your pack, but this handy battery charger will also happily charge AAA NiMH and NiCd rechargeable batteries too, both via its USB connection.
Pop up to two batteries into the fast battery charger at any one time and charge via the USB port on your PC – it takes three to four hours to reach 75% full charge. Clear LED indicators show the charging status of the USB battery charger, as well as your battery power levels, while tough, rubberised casing stays protected and looks good in the process.

The Battery Charger seems to be something we were all expecting for a while now. I know you are all tired of all the large and bulky chargers and you need something to handle easlily and carry anywhere you want. This is what you need !
