The new S-series model has about the same displacement as an iPod Nano, but adds interesting new features like noise cancellation (no fancy headphones required), 30fps video playback and an automatic playlist generator that makes choices based on your listening habits.

It’ll be $150 for a 4GB model and $180 for an 8GB one, both having 40 hours of music playback (or 10 hours of video playback on a 2″ QVGA display.)

And if that’s too pricey, for $100 or $140, depending on storage size, you can grab one of the new E-series models instead, which lacks the thin form and fancy software of the Walkman-S; or the B-series, which has no video and only 1GB or space, but costs only $45.

There is nothing that can match up the wits of radio. It can single-handedly look after your music needs and the spicy chitchat of radio jockeys comes as a bonus. With no jazz of cutting-edge features and hip-hop looks, the HiddenRadio is a subtle radio player that could be mistaken for anything but what it actually is. The Aussie designer John Van Den Nieuwenhuizen primarily gauged on simplicity of use and point-blank functionality. With no scroll wheels and knobs to turn, volume control is at the ease of simply lifting up the cap. By doing so, the bass speaker chamber gets more space to exhale louder music.

Rotating the cap changes the radio station and a LED on the bottom points on the tuning quality. I wonder if one’s love for radio will juice up this player since trace of plugs and cords seems amiss. I think it’s a perfect desk accessory at your workplace and if your supervisor barges into, just tap the cap down and let him wonder if he was day-dreaming!

The Sennheiser MX W1 is able to wirelessly connect to an MP3 Player, but it does not use any Bluetooth at all. Instead, it relies on Kleer corporation’s digital transmission technology, which uses the same 2.4 GHz range, but has better streaming of CD-quality sound for your ears.

The user needs to attach a transmitter to his or her MP3 Player via headphone jack. In fact, I believe these wireless headphones will work for any device that has a headphone jack.

It doesn’t look like the transmitter is powered by the MP3 Player or other electronic device, as you will also have to charge the transmitter and earbuds. The transmitter will last for about 10 hours, while the earbuds can last 3 to 5 hours. The headphones come with a special carrying case with a built-in battery that allows a full recharge of the earbuds three times.

Unfortunately, this wireless technology does not come cheap. In this case, this Sennheiser MX W1 will cost about $499.99.

Remember the days when speakers were square and we had to drill and attach addition stands to the wall just to get those boxy speakers in place? Well JBL have shattered this boring reality with the introduction of their new Control NOW Speakers. These speakers are shaped in a 90 degree arc and can literally be easily hooked up to any 90 degree angle wall corner.

One thing is certain, mounting these speakers is a lot easier since less brackets are required. They also go well will the whole design of any wall and look more integrated into the scenery. The speakers come in a few variations depending on where you want them. It’s shape also also for you to hook up 4 units into one circle for “all round” sound.

These speakers are priced at USD $225 per unit, so you are sure to be paying for more than just a design. JBL tagged these speakers as “90 degrees of pure ingenuity”, and it certainly looks like they achieved that status.

Since the Olympics have began there have been several Birds Nest inspired gadgetry. Frankly, all of them look a bit cheesy. This new one is a USB speaker to keep your music going no matter where you’re at. I’m sure the actual full-size Olympic version of this is much more interesting and attractive, but the gadgets just haven’t been. Notice how I said I’m sure, which just goes to show how much I pay attention to the Olympics. I’m not sure I’d even know they were going on if several different gadget sites didn’t occasionally post that one of the girls in the Olympics had done something drool-worthy.

So those that are really into the Olympics might get into this gadget a bit more than those like me that keep away from sports like they’re the black plague. The USB speaker doesn’t have a lot in the way of speccs, but it does have the usual. It works with all types of MP3 players, iPhones and iPods. It is a cheap speaker so it’s not going to have stellar sound quality, but it works. It’s being sold for $12 and comes in either black or silver.

Folks who want to maintain their personal space can always look forward to the Orbitsound T3 speaker. While it isn’t as private as a pair of headphones, it won’t cause hearing damage either if used properly, unlike a pair of headphones.

The T3 uses amazing airSOUND® single-point-stereo technology to power its personal stereo aura. The Orbitsound T3 also doubles as a great portable stereo speaker system on the move for use with laptops, music and video players. Great in the office or a hotel room: sit the T3 on any flat surface for great airSOUND spatial stereo sound. Measuring just 102 x 60 x 20mm (22mm at maximum) and weighing 115g, the T3 is powered by a lithium rechargeable battery, providing up to 10 hours playing time on a single charge.

You can pick one up for approximately $170, but make sure this is not used in a library or place of worship unless getting shown to the door is your thing.
